Jan Brokken Live at the Vancity Theatre in Vancouver, Canada

On behalf of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Vancouver, we are very pleased to invite you to a live book-event with well known Dutch author, Jan Brokken, on Thursday, May 19, at 7.30 pm, Vancity Theatre, in Vancouver, Canada. Jan Brokken will be interviewed live on stage by Globe and Mail’s journalist Marsha Lederman about his book The Just. Members of the family of Marsha Lederman came with a Curaçao-visa delivered by Dutch consul Jan Zwartendijk to Canada. The Just is the remarkable story of how a consul and his allies helped save thousands of Jews from the Holocaust in one of the greatest rescue operations of the twentieth century. The event will further feature a mini-concert by Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s principal Cellist, Henry Shapard. After the mini-concert and interview there will be time for Questions and Answers.
